A Video, Painting, and Graphic Design Project This project explores how a historical cultural text by Shmuel HaNagid can be expressed through a contemporary visual and musical language. In its postmodern adaptation, the text becomes the foundation of a visual work that celebrates simplicity and human warmth, while acknowledging the pain of our times. Over the course of the six months following October 7, more than 150 portraits were filmed across Israel, from north to south. Each subject smiles directly at the camera in a typological style, representing the diverse human mosaic that makes up today’s Israel. Alongside these video portraits, the project integrates acrylic-on-canvas paintings that were digitally animated through a mixed-media technique, merging traditional and modern forms into a unified visual narrative. Showcased at Migdal Shalom in Tel Aviv as part of a Bachelor’s final project in Multidisciplinary Design at Seminar Hakibbutzim. 2025.
